Will I meet people of all ages?
All our Brief Encounters events are age compatible. Usually, there's a 10-12 year age span, and we vary the age ranges each month. Dances, special events and seminars are open to all ages. (return to top)

I want to meet people in a different age category than my own. Can I sign up for an event not in my age range?
Participants who register for an event expect to meet people in the age range advertised. In an effort to be consistent, we do not register people unless they fall within the stated range. We do overlap our age groups to accommodate a wide variety of people. For those of you who tell us you look ten years younger than your "real" age, please note that we reserve the right to check IDs at the door. (return to top)

I don't have an E-mail address. Can I still participate?
All registration and correspondence, without exception, are done via the Internet and E-mail so you'll need a friend to register for you if don't have access to a computer. The first time you register for an event, you will create a username and password for registration purposes. (return to top)

Do you do any kind of background checks on participants?
No. You should treat a Brief Encounters evening exactly the same way you'd treat an evening at a dance or any other social event. Just remember -- use the same safe dating practices you would when meeting anyone for the first time. (return to top)

Can I sign up with a friend or should I come alone?
Whatever makes you most comfortable. A word of caution though . . . if you and your friend get the same matches, it's everyone for themselves! (return to top)

What happens if an event is full?
You're doomed to be single and lonely. We're kidding of course, but our events tend to fill up quickly. ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST! If an event is full, please check the next party in your city and make a reservation! Most times you'll be given the option to register for the wait list for any event. What kind of people participate in Brief Encounters events?
There is really only one characteristic that our participants share: they are all serious about creating a committed relationship in their lives. Other than that, almost all of them are professionals with the exception of the occasional driftwood sculptor and itinerant tuba player. (return to top)

Brief Encounters USA is all about events that help people meet other single and available people. If you are truly available, you are welcome to attend. Just be forewarned that not everyone will feel comfortable with your situation, so please be aware of this. (return to top)
